Getting Back To The Schedule

I keep on thinking that it's Tuesday. That's not a good way to start off the week.

Today there are a few little things I learned.
  • I am terrible with grammar. I use the word anywho which isn't an actual word, but I acknowledge it. I shame myself.
  • Apparently my body understands when I'm starting classes again, so it decides to wake me up every half hour after 3:00 AM until I finally decide to get up 20 minutes before my alarm.
  • Hannah seems to be the only name my Theatre professor can't remember out of sixteen people. How insulting.
  • Currently I'm still on vacation mentality, where being productive only happens later in the evening.
  • I enjoy watching listening to people prepare food while cleaning. Hmm.
  • The room in my apartment looks like a shrine to myself and running. I need pictures of other people.
One day down, four to go. It's not a bad thing, it's actually good. I mean, I'm not going to work eight hours a day. It's just strange getting on a schedule again. Not bad, just weird.

How do you feel when you get back on a schedule?

Let's Restart

Earlier, I had ideas on what to write about. However now as I sit at the computer, nothing comes to mind. Perhaps because I started The Hunger Games a couple of hours ago, and it's sucked me in like every other person that has read it. Hell, I'm already halfway done.

Seeing as the holidays are over, it's time for a restart. I honestly think that if New Year's wasn't right after Christmas, a lot of people would be a lot heavier even though most resolutions don't end up being followed through with. Wow, that's a long sentence.

Still, I think I'd like to get a move on with at least a few certain goals now. Waiting is just wasting time for getting things done. Therefore, here are some little goals that I would like to work on. They're not quite concrete yet, but I'd like to have a basic idea.
  • Get back to my "before the holidays" weight. I'll admit it: I was not good this holiday season in accordance to food. Funny thing is, that I didn't have any problems until the week and a half before Christmas. Another thing is when you're smaller, it takes less food to help you gain weight. That's why people who originally start losing weight can eat so much, but y'all probably already knew that. And running? Only gets you so far. I have been running this entire break, and it doesn't do as much as you'd think sometimes.
  • Get my sleeping pattern back to normal. This break, I've been mean to my normal schedule and been waking up late. True, I'm not over-sleeping, (I'm getting eight hours) but nine? Is too late for me. I want my 7:00AM back please!
  • Use my punch card at the rec center to take exercise classes. I've been bad about using it, and I spent money on it! I don't want to end the year with any classes left.
I'm sure I'll think of more things I'd like to work on, but for now those are the basics. Now it's time for me to get back to The Hunger Games. Starting it in the evening was a bad idea.

What are your main goals for the future?

Getting Your Zzzzs

Holiday parties I have gone to since this month started: 2
Times I have worn my ugly sweater meant for such events: 4 times.

You can see how this is a problem. It's so warm though! Don't worry, I'm not wearing it in public.

Due to the fact that sleep is currently the main thing on my mind, let's talk about it now shall we?

In high school, I was never that kid who could stay up until 2 every night and function like a normal person. Oh no. I needed my sleep. If I had anything under 6 hours, I pretty much became brain dead.

Guess what? I'm still like that, although now I need to go to bed early as well. Aw yeah, I am the cool kid.

Hmm. I thought I would have a lot more to say about that, but apparently I do not. Last night's total hours of sleep? 3.5. Yeah.

I think I'm going to bed right now.

How many hours of sleep do you need to function?

Crazy Theatre Productions, Lack of Sleep and Family Graduations

Have you ever read the Greek play Lysistrata? Have you ever seen it performed at a college at midnight?

Basically, ridiculousness. The girl next to me received about four lap dances. There was a giant purple dick held up by a stick and a cloth to represent a guy who really needed to get some. Like I said: Ridiculous.

Attending last night's show made me get four hours of sleep. Result? Two car-ride induced naps. Ah...

It's been a long day really. My cousin graduated from law school, AMAZING!

Just been hanging out, eating food, driving, and watching my cousin graduate. Now... we relax.

What's the craziest theater production you've ever seen?

Not Much Going On, Pictures and Running Situation

Sunday night? Sunday night! It felt like it was just Thursday and we were all thinking, "Wow, it feels like Friday."

Once again, it was a day of mostly sleeping, except with the added studying of Psychology. In which I did a quiz online and did splendidly on.

So today, whenever I took the chance to creep out of my bed, I would see myself in the full length mirror. I looked like one of those kids who you should send a dollar to for food. Geez. My mother agreed.

Oh! Also, I was going to post pictures yesterday, but I totally forgot! So... here you go!

I didn't even know there was an ultimate Frisbee league.
Also, I'm worried about my running. Since I only ran about a mile yesterday, and didn't run today when I was supposed to run 11 miles on Saturday and 4 today, I don't know how I should run next week. Or this week I guess. I don't usually run on Mondays, but I am going to tomorrow. Then I was thinking maybe I could run my 11 on Tuesday? Or should I just wait until next Saturday for my long run?

Have a nice night!

Orientation and Feeling Sickly

So here's what you missed last time on Glee! what happened yesterday and caused me to basically not be able to write any coherent thoughts.

It all started yesterday at Orientation. I woke up at about 7, believing that the orientation started at 10. You see, they told me that I would be receiving a letter with all of the information for the day. I never received said letter, but when I called the office they told me that it would start at ten. I was still nervous that the time wouldn't be correct, so I checked online... Online it said 7:30. Rushing out the door and hitching a ride, I was terrified that I would miss something.
I arrived at 7:50. Time of actual start? 10. Just... like she told me. Geez. So, ended up waiting for a couple hours just for things to start.

It was weird going around campus by myself. My lack of sense of direction helped me get a lot of walking in. I never realized it before, but the campus is quite pretty.

Not sure if it's as pretty as WOU though.

Speaking of WOU, weird thing happened. At my freshman orientation at WOU, there were PLUS team members that showed us around. I saw my PLUS team member at transfer orientation. Kind of awkward, kind of hilarious.

I had lunch, and that's when I started to get sick.

All I can say is that I felt awful. Even though my sister is sick herself, she helped me out while I was hardcore strugglebusing. I'm thinking that I may have gotten food poisoning, because I got sick. I could hardly move, and the only reason that I managed to type out what I typed out yesterday was because I had just hurled, making me feel slightly better for the moment. (TMI, yes.)

The weird thing that pissed me off the most was that today I was supposed to run my long run today. I ended up running a mile around the local track just so I wouldn't pass out in the middle of nowhere. It just- ARG.

Pretty much all I did today was sleep. I woke up, drove home, slept, woke up, slept again, ran a bit and showered. And here we are.

One of the worst things about getting sick? You feel like you've had the crap kicked out of you.

Probably going to bed soon? I think so. Oh, and huzzah! We all survived the rapture. Pish.

When was the last time you got sick? How did it affect the rest of your life?

Easter Celebrations

Another holiday has come and gone, therefore school must start up once again. I suppose that it wasn't really a vacation, but whenever I get together with a large group of family members with vast amounts of food, it sure does feel like it.

So what was included in this lovely day? Well, it all started with my parents, sister, family friends and I going to service at 8:30 in the morning. Unsurprisingly enough, the sister was not looking forward to this from lack of sleep throughout the week. As for me, I didn't really care much since my internal clock decides that 7:15 is about the right time for me to wake up any day, despite any lack of sleep.

After we got back, we had "brunch" at 11:30. I personally would consider this lunch. As soon as Round 1 was over, Round 2 revved up. Round 2 included hiding Easter eggs around the house, extreme lounging, modeling sessions and playing around with cousins.

Can I admit that I've accidentally fallen asleep twice today? Once was while sitting straight up at a table, the other time was about three hours ago. Probably not the best since I should probably be going to be soon, yet I'm starting to get energy again.

Yes, there were pictures. Unfortunately, I do not have the camera that has said pictures. Actually, I don't have my camera at all. I'll have to get that back later.

Hope everyone had a fun Easter!

What did you do to celebrate Easter?

Psychological Situations, Dreams From Real Life and Talking Things Out

This week may seem pretty long, but I can't believe that it's already 9:30!

I'm fairly positive that Psychology is making me go insane. Oh, it's not because of homework. Psychology is giving me serious mental problems. From the three weeks I've been in the class, I've learned that no matter what my sister will have a higher IQ than me, and that I'm emotionally shut off. When we get to the point where we're testing my neurosis, my score will shoot through the roof.

Speaking of Psychological issues...

I've talked about how the room mate and I have had some trouble with communication, or lack thereof. I tend to learn more about her from her other friends then actually from her. Now, for the most part I am a complete pansy and I've had trouble talking things out. (The whole emotion problem, see?) Anywho, I decided to actually grow a pair and straight up ask, "Why don't you ever TALK to me?"
Not those exact words, but the general idea. This frustration plus the caffeine consumed too late in the day yesterday made me have trouble sleeping. Still, with the struggling sleep I managed to have a dream where I asked that, and the response wasn't a terrible fight ensuing. And you know what? That's exactly what happened. The room mate was more relieved than angry, and said that she was just quite. Which actually... she's kind of like that a lot, even before. There are still a few things I need to prod her about, but it's just one step at a time.

I would say that I should listen to my dreams more, but the night before I had had a dream where the Pope deemed Lady Gaga as next Pope in line. Maybe not.

I'm ready for the weekend! Or at least something other than academia to occur in my life.

Has a dream you've had ever been strangely similar to real life?

Napping and Sheets

How do you like your sleeping arrangements? We all have our specific way we like to travel into snooze town, and we have plenty of options to choose from. Maybe you’re they type who’s perfectly fine flopping onto the couch to drift off. Or you could be the type that has trouble sleeping unless they sleep in their own, super soft bed. In any case, everyone has specific ways they go to sleep.

In my own napping ventures, I’ve fallen asleep in my fair share of quirky places. I’ve snuck in a nap of the floor next to the heater, I’ve drooled in a chair, I’ve slept in a bus with my head smushed against  the seat in front of me. Still, I like to sleep in a good old fashioned bed like most everyone else I can think of.

My sleeping habits are pretty normal. I drool occasionally, I can toss and turn, my feet have fallen asleep many times before. Yet there is one habit I have that makes my mother think there’s something off about me.

I don’t like sleeping under the sheets. This isn’t to say that I don’t sleep under the covers, but sheets? I simply have no use for them. My mom thinks I’m mad, but I think it’s a very valid reason. The whole point of sleeping is to be as comfortable as possible, and sheets do not help me with that. They’re crisp, crunchy…. those are not words I would use to describe my favorite place to sleep.

I don’t know a lot of others who dislike sleeping in the sheets, but then again, people have weirder sleeping habits than that. There are people who even get it on while they're sleeping!

All I know that I like to get in my recommended amount of sleep wherever possible. Even if that means falling asleep on the ground in front of the heater.

What’s an odd sleeping habit you have?

Running, Napping, and Safety

It's almost the weekend, and seeing how finals are coming up I'm not sure how I feel about that. Ooh boy.

This has been one weird week. Last night I managed to get to bed a half hour earlier than my usual, but I was so drowsy this afternoon I dozed off for a 45 minute impromtu power nap. It wasn't really the most expected thing, seeing as I was going to go for a run. The room mate walked in to see me drooling in my bed wearing a full workout outfit. This includes having my tennis shoes on. Let me repeat that: I fell asleep on my bed in tennis shoes. What is this?

Afterwards, I was able to get a pretty wicked run in. Running more miles than expected, but not feeling super sore from it? Aw yeah.

The times that I enjoy runs the most are when I start daydreaming about situations, scenarios, and making plans. On today's run, that meant going back to a daydreaming topic that I think about frequently. The question I ask myself is what I would talk about if I was a guest on Chelsea Lately.

...It ends up being a discussion on things that I'm interested in. And not being famous for reasons like Kim K.

One thing that sometimes comes up when I talk about running with people is safety. I've had some family members get uneasy when they hear about my adventures outside, worrying about people coming after me. Luckily, I know that where I run is really safe. No high crime rates, areas where people can see me. I also make sure that I run with my phone and identification, for the worst case scenarios. However like they always say, one can never be too careful. With this in mind, I received a certain gift from my mother: Pepper spray.
Now, I know that it's a good thing to have, but there's only one problem. I keep on forgetting it. Really, what's the use then? Thankfully, I keep remembering it earlier and earlier, so perhaps next time I will actually remember it before I run. I think this will be a reminder!

Oh goodness. Not ready for next week, and it's coming too soon! Night everyone!

What precautions do you take when exercising?

Peculiar Side Effects and Ending Thoughts

Mrr. Tuesdays.

Surprisingly, I've still been feeling really tired from the lack of sleep during the weekend. I was hoping that getting the regular amounts of sleep during the week would stop the sleepiness, but my body knows what's up.
"Hey! Don't act like I forgot that you stayed up past your normal sleeping time this weekend! I know that you didn't sleep in to accommodate! Goodness!"

Lack of sleep has affected my running, strangely enough not how you would expect. Today on my run, my legs were moving... but my eyes started to droop! It was like I was a drowsy driver!

Now, as far as the rest of the day has gone, I'm getting to the point of exasperation with classes. Perhaps it is because I've been hyped up for Spring break for so long, but classes are starting to become simply annoying. For some of my classes, the teachers simply don't know what else to do. They're throwing us information that isn't going to be used for anything. As for some classes, I'm just getting annoyed because I've done all I can, and things aren't changing. Meh.

Perhaps this is just my impatience catching up with me. I'm glad that there only about a week and a half until Spring Break! Woohoo! Plus, there's new Glee and Raising Hope on tonight, and that's always a positive.

Hope everyone has a lovely evening!

Do you have Spring Break coming up soon?

Old Lady Sleeping Habits and Figuring Out Time

People, I have got to say something.

I am probably the most old-lady version of a college student.
You know how the other day I don't function well without sleep? Well, I've been making sure I've been in that state of spaciness for a few days.
Staying up late, waking up early... Probably not the best idea. Eh, tonight will end up being an early one.

Time is a strange thing. Earlier today the room mate and I were talking about how shocking it is that it's already almost the end of the winter term. It's already March! Some of our other hall mates commented how this term seemed to go on a lot longer than the fall term, but we both thought the complete opposite. Why is it that time tends to feel different for everyone despite the fact that we all receive time in the same increments?
Well, they weren't freshmen either. Does that add into the equation of time passing by quickly? It could. I mean, we've been experiencing so many different situations in this year,

Another thing that has been passing through my mind is how time works with plans. Sometimes we are giving more time than we know what do to with, but then there are the times where everything gets piled up, and there was no time to get it done earlier.

As much as I'd like to have life to be perfectly organized, I know that there's no way that can happen. I can't control time. I can't control other people. One must simply go with the flow of life.

Welp, those are my thoughts for the day. Therefore, let Dead week begin!

The Ability to Function Based on Sleep, and Unexpected Actions From Valley Girl Types

Woowhee. I always know when it's Wednesday.

As far as my first year of college has gone, I've been able to have a pretty routine schedule of sleep. For both of my first two terms, I've had Monday through Thursday classes at 8:00 in the morning. Because of this, I tend to go to sleep at 11:00 pm on the nights before those classes. I'll admit that I don't roll like most college students roll, staying up all night and functioning on two hours of sleep. The thing is though, I can't function on that much sleep. If I don't get around seven to eight hours, I get cranky. I doze off. I simply can't function well!
I know, perhaps I should work on being able to function on little sleep. Alas, it really hasn't been necessary. Surprisingly enough, I have somehow been able to budget my time well enough to not have to stay up much past my personal curfew.

Today was not a good example of this though. A certain project took so long I ended up getting into the shower at 10:30 PM.
Strangely enough, my 8:00 AM class is cancelled tomorrow. I may be staying up an hour later, but I'm going to get an hour more of sleep in. Precise planning or a funny coincidence? You decide.

While drying my hair, one of my hallmates came into the bathroom. She was one of the girls who looks valley girl perfect, you know what I mean? Tall, skinny, blond? Having someone like that walk past you is kind of intimidating. You start thinking, "Why is she all perfect? Why am I not like that?" Anywho, back to my point. While thinking about the comparison game, she passed by me, went to the bathroom... and didn't wash her hands.
Personally? I find that disgusting. I almost yelled out to her, "GIRL, you better come back here and wash your hands ya nasty!" Just goes to show you that you can't judge a book by its cover... actually, is that the right analogy? I say it fits for now.

...The titles of my posts are becoming more and more ridiculous. Pish, I find them entertaining.

I'm so glad that the week is almost over! Spring break is so close, I can almost feel the rays of sun beaming down on my face.

How do you function without sleep?

The King's Speech, British Actors and Outside Running Situations

Weekends are too short, aren't they? Eh, well a new, hopefully exciting week is here now!

Last night I went to go see The King's Speech. All I have to say is that I loved it. Well, that's not all I have to say.
Oh Colin Firth, why is it that you became one of my favorite actors? I'm not really sure. Pehaps it was in Love Actually, one of the best romantic comedies ever (in my opinion.)

It might have even been in What a Girl Wants, a ridiculous movie that I admit I adore.

Oh geez. Even the movie poster is ridiculously cheesy!
I may never know, but some how it just happened. We have had our rough patches though, like A Single Man.

It wasn't that it wasn't a good performance, it was just dreadfully depressing.
But The King's Speech? I don't know what it is, but you've done it again.
The whole movie overall was just wonderful. I thought that all of the acting was superb, and strangely enough the music drew me in. The reason that's strange is because that's usually not one of the things I notice about movies, but the music in this made me... smile. It was just so pleasent to the ears. Yeah, I know how crazy I sound. Speaking of the acting, Helena Bonham Carter didn't creep me out like usual, and that's saying something! I mean no offense to anyone out there who's a fan of hers, she just... usually creeps me out.

One of the funniest things about movies with British actors is when you play the "Let's spot the Harry Potter Characters" game with it. Because if you have a lot of British actors, there's bound to be one HP cast member in the bunch. There was Bellatrix (duh), Peter Pettigrew, and... Dumbledore! Oh man. My friend actually pointed it out to me.
Me- "That guy looks so familiar... What is he in?"
Danyon- "Oh my gosh, it's Dumbledore!"
Me- "... Oh my gosh!"
Dumbledore as a king? Coolio.

Oh dear, I didn't mean to talk so much about that movie. Oh well, what can you do. Today has been pretty much homework with a morning run and shower. I woke up at 10:00! I couldn't believe it, but I needed it. Ah. Now, let's remember to wake up on time tomorrow!

For my run, the weather was fantastic! The weather has been lovely in general lately. ...That makes me nervous. The run was pretty good, but because of the lovely weather other creatures like to be outside as well. The other creatures I'm talking about are bugs, and a bee flew into my hair during the run. I didn't get stung, but if you were driving towards WOU this morning and saw a girl flailing like crazy running by the road... that was me.

I really ought to start writing out my opinions on movies somewhere else. I talk about them far too much here. I suppose I'll write about other things tomorrow.

What type of bizarre situations have you faced while exercising?

Quirky Habits and Finding Out Things for Yourself

Ah... Today was such a chill day, it felt good to relax after a chaotic week. Slept in, aw yeah.

Since I've been thinking about my major again, I've started noticing odd things that I enjoy/do everyday. Oddly enough, I think I like writing notes when they're not for class. My special "What are you going to do with your life" notebook is basically notes and lists jotted down. Things like information on dates, requirements for programs, and financial plans. Maybe it's not so weird, but it seems a little odd to me.

Yes, lately I've also been writing down my outfits. Just 'cause.
The other habits I noticed were with clothes. I never thought about how much I enjoy clothes. I love putting outfits together and going out into the world in them. One of the first things I notice about people? Their outfits. I scope out something about one person's outfit and think, "Ooh, that's cute!" If I'm staring at a person, this tends to be the reason why. This makes me wonder if I should think about something with fashion, but I'm not sure how good I am with brands. Just because I enjoy clothes does it mean a career? I enjoy a lot of things, clothes are just part of it. I know that peoples' style does make me want to live in the city more. People in small towns dress boringly.

I've been considering maybe if I want to transfer, as I believe I've said before. Sure, there are many things I like about here, but I'm starting to feel like there's less and less I'm excited about here as well. I've been studying up on information on other school, and if I'm seriously considering transferring, I'd better start deciding soon. Some people are so lucky to know what they're doing. I wonder who else is as lost as me?

The last thing I've been doing lately is I've stopped letting what other people think I would be good at be my deciding point. That may sound odd, but let me explain. Do you ever see a person walking down the street and think, "I bet that person is a *insert career here*?" Of course you have, but my room mate thinks she's the only one who does. For me, if she didn't know me, she thinks I'd be a teacher or a nurse. Usually I'd think, "Maybe those would be what I should be." But now, I realize that's not me. I'm pretty squeamish, so I wouldn't be a good nurse. I've learned more and more that I would not make a good teacher. I've started to think more and more about how I work, and what careers fit me. Sounds simple, but humans are easily influence, ya know?

Well, what a mouthful, huh? I guess that's what happens when I get time to breath, I ramble. Other than that, ran 8 miles today and been extremely munchy all day. I'm going to go to midnight movies tonight!

What are peculiar habits you have?

Old Friends, Old Setbacks

My dad is watching The Proposal right now. I think it's safe to say that living in a house full of females for more than two decades has melted his masculinity. I wish I liked that movie more, but I just don't feel like Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds have enough time to actually form their relationship into love. Yes, this is me over thinking a movie.

Today I dined with two of my old friends for lunch. Being with them brought back feelings I wished I didn't have. Feelings of... inadequacy.

The weird thing is while I was talking I realized I've been doing some really great things. I did well for myself first term, I've been working hard at making my life into something special. Heck, I'm training for a half marathon! Yet in the presence of these friends, I feel unaccomplished. It could be their expressions, their tone of voice, the way they talk about their lives. Strange thing was, when I thought about it later I realized that only one of the friends was like this, and it was the one who I used to be closer to. She felt pretentious, really. The friend who was more distant before seemed interested, and made the conversation feel more equal.

What do we do about these friends? I've started to learn that I shouldn't hang out with people that make me feel like a lower life form. It's just strange because I've been close to this friend for a long time. Is it better to have a friend who makes you feel like a loser or to lose a friend that you've created many great memories with? It's a hard thing to decide.

I woke up at 11 today. That is the latest I have woken up in a freakin' long time. Wonder how much later I'll wake up this break. This might mess with my 8:00 am classes next term.

100th Post and Bugs in Bed

My goodness, it appears that I am to my 100th post already! And yet, I don't have anything super exciting to write about. Today was one of those days where you start cleaning one little area that ends up turning into cleaning the whole house.

Last night right before I was going to go to bed, something caught my eye. Crawling on my sheet was something about a centimeter long, brown and fuzzy. I believe it was some sort of catepillar. As soon as I saw it, I sat up, left my room, and proceeded to sleep on the couch downstairs. This is the second time in my life where I have gotten out of bed and slept somewhere else because a bug has reared its head in my bed. (The other time was when I was in middle school and a spider fell into my bed from the ceiling. I didn't sleep in that bed for days.) I'm not too worried about bugs most of the time, but if they want to have a slumber party I say no way.

Not much else is giving me creative juice for the evening, so I'll leave y'all with my little bug story. I hope everyone has a lovely evening!

How do you feel about creepy crawlies?

Harry and Coffee

Tonight is the night! Yes indeedy, it's time for Harry Potter!

Last night, I could not sleep, but Harry Potter was not the reason. I just couldn't sleep. Then for some reason my body thought it would be a good idea to wake up at 5:45. Yuck. For the rest of the day I've felt like I've been constantly doing something, you know? Hectic.

My lack of sleep leads us to a few minutes ago. First of all, I want to let you know that I have never been a coffee fan. I adore the smell, but the taste? Not my thing. The only coffee beverage that I had enjoyed was called a blended grasshopper, which was white chocolate and mint. That was before I walked by Cafe Allegro today. While walking by I noticed their beverage of the day was Butter Cream. In my HP high I instantly thought, "Like Butterbeer! I must try it." ...And it was good! My goodness, what is this? Are my tastebuds changing? I don't think too much because 2/3rds of the way through I started tasting the coffee taste and decided I was done with it. Eh. Glad I tried it though!

Now it's time for me to pack up some things, drive up to Canby, and get ready for some Harry!

Are you watching the new movie tonight? Do you like coffee?

Granola and DJ-ing

Oof. I wish I was one of those people who could run on no sleep, but I need at least 7 hours… That will probably have to change with college. I must start enjoying the taste of coffee.
Almost every morning I have one of the most delicious breakfasts ever. I have a mug of granola, milk, and some peanut butter mixed in. It may sound a bit odd, but it is wonderful. I’ve been getting the granola from Valsets since I have early class most of the week and get there before class starts. I must get more granola though…
Mmm, yummy!
I saw my mom and grandma today. We were making sure that my financial aid was all correct for the umpteenth time. I just like to make sure, you know? I worry that I’m doing the thing everyone says not to do which is see your family a lot the first year. My mom reassures me I’m fine. I suppose I over think these things.

My run today was a weak one. I was not feeling it, I was tired, and I didn’t drink enough water. I ran for 32 minutes but my Runkeeper bugged out again. I’ll have to do the drive test and see how far it was, but I think it was only 3 miles. Since we’re on the subject of running…

I am officially registered for 2011 Cascade Half Marathon on January 16th.

This is crazy! The most I’ve ever run I think has been 6 miles, and that was a run/walk. But I can do this. I WILL do this. And it will be awesome.

I’m getting sick. My throat is starting to really hurt. I’ll have some O J tomorrow and get some sleep tonight. I know you should be doing these things before to prevent getting sick, but I’m a college student! I don’t think logically!

My cousin deejay-ed a dance over here! How cool is that? I went for a little bit, but my throat was killing me after awhile.

Rocking the DJ booth
It's time for me to drink some tea, finish my Shakespeare reading and then it's bedtime for me. Night everyone!
What's your go-to breakfast? What are some things you do when you are starting to get sick to feel better?

Learning to be social

I'm not sure if it was all of the Diet Pepsi I drank at the surprise party or my room mate making me get out of bed to let her in just as I was falling asleep, but I did not sleep well at all last night. Ick.

I know it's only a little bit into the school year, but I've been feeling really alone. I hate for this to be a downer post, but I'm feeling a bit down. I've been trying really hard to make friends, but I'm having the same thing happen that always happens to me where I feel like I don't really click with anyone right. Katelyn clicks so much better with Sabrina and Lehua than I do because they like things that I'm not into. And Danyon has her Wyoming friends that she's always with. Where do I fit in? I'm still looking into clubs, I'm trying so hard! But why is it so much harder for me? And yes, I know we should be the best us, but it's hard when people are doing what you want to be doing so much better.
That's the same with guys. Somehow when I try to talk to guys, there never want to talk to me but when Katelyn tries they are all into her. I try all of the tricks that everyone tells me, but it never works! Do I scare them off?

Ugh, this is depressing me more. (I could also be a bit down due to lack of sleep and you know what...) Let's end on a positive note! I'm going to go to Zumba club tonight, hopefully it will be fun!

How do you get to know people in a new situation? How do make friends?
