What Happened This Summer?

Welp, tomorrow is the beginning of September. Wait, what?! Goodness, when the heck did that happen?

For most of us, September means that summer is over. For K-12, school started around the beginning of September, so in my mind it's always been the end of summer. However, now it seems my school year starts at the end of September now that I'm in college. Which is weird. Another weird thought that comes to mind is that when I'm done with college, I will never have a summer break again. Unless I'm a teacher. That's just sad in my book. Where will I get all of that time to waste?

Despite still having a little less than a month left, I've been thinking about what I've actually accomplished this summer. Some big things were:
  • Ran a 20 mile run, plus a lot of other runs
  • Completed a full year of College Spanish
Only two big things, but they seemed pretty big. I did do a lot of other things this summer though. For instance, I did quite a bit of reading. At the beginning of summer, I said I would read all of the classic literature that everyone has to read in classes. That... did not happen, but I did get a lot of reading in. There was Chelsea Handler, Brave New World, random books from the library telling me helpful hints about life, just whatever looked interesting. Besides, isn't that what you should read anyway? Currently I'm reading a book called Hungry, and it's a memoir from this model who's a plus sized model now. I remember reading something about it in a magazine awhile ago, and it sounded interesting. She kind of goes off topic a lot though.

There were a lot of little things that happened this summer as well. Time with family and time with friends. Time spend outside in the wonderful sun.Time wasted. Time well spent. Time spent trying to cook, failing miserably.

Overall, it's been a pretty good summer. I'm not sure I'm ready to go back! On the other hand, I'm excited for what lies ahead this school year.

What big things happened in your life this summer?

The Ugly Side of Running and School is Out For the Summer

Today on my run, I felt something under my sports bra. I pulled my shirt and looked down to see a bug had somehow crawled into the space between my boobs. Remember when I said that running was sexy? Scratch that.

Well, it still is. Maybe. Maybe just marathon training is not sexy. Bugs sticking to me, coming to work covered in sweat, making sure I eat the right things before runs to make sure I don't have issues, effed up feet. These are all things that are not attractive. The feeling of strength is, but the rest? Not so much.

Half marathon training, you were cool with me. No disgusting issues there. Ah well.

School is out for the summer! Sounds weird, huh? I am all done though, and super excited. Today was my last day of Spanish, and now I never have to take it again. Unless... I want to. However, Spanish is a lot of busy work. I'm not sure I'm up to another year of it.

It's weird though, because now I'm going to have quite a bit of free time. Spanish took up a lot of time, especially with the commute. I'm not complaining.

Welp, that's all from me this evening, because I have to get up early tomorrow. On the day after I get done with school. Odd.

What part of working out grosses you out the most?

Procrastination and Getting on the Bike

I've officially become what I avoided being this whole school year. An extreme procrastinator.

Alright, maybe it's just because I don't have that much of this class left. It also could be because on Mondays and Wednesdays I end up having a big chunk of time to work on my work. But during the school year if I ever did homework, I didn't have anything distract me. Now... let's just say I've been doing a lot of multitasking. Not so good. I am doing my work... just other things are going on while I do it. I'm thinking this habit will change once it's the real school year again.

Other than homework, I did do something today that I haven't done in quite a long time. I rode a bike.

Yeah, it seems a little weird, but I just haven't done it in a long time. I've had my reasons, like my bike has been messed up for awhile. Every summer I have to fix it, and this summer I just haven't done it. Maybe I'm resentful of it. However, I was able to ride a friend's bike that is staying at our house for a bit to my dad's work and back.

I suppose I don't hate biking. I don't like biking in competitive or athletic form is all. One of the things that I dislike to do the most is ride bikes with other people because I am slow. That makes me feel crappy about myself, therefore building hatred towards the metal demon. (Okay, not that bad. Right.)

I like the idea of leisurely biking down a little road, not in a race setting. Spinning sounds awful.

That's all I've got for today, so I'll see y'all later.

What athletic activity do you like to do alone? With a group?

The Future Tense and the Conditional Tense

Gee, it's been awhile since I've talked about a lesson that a fictional character has taught me... but that's not going to happen today either. I simply don't have any lessons I can recall at the moment. So let's move on.4

Ah, I'm so excited that it's the last week of Spanish. After this, no more language classes ever! No more nights of piles of meaningless assignments. Lovely. Truthfully, I brought up the Spanish to talk about what we've been working on lately.

In Spanish (and English as well), there are two different types of future tenses. There's the Future Tense (duh), and the Conditional Tense. The Future tense is a tense that is used when we know that something is going to occur in the future, such as:
"I will go to the bank" or
"They will dance at the party."

For the Conditional, it's the future as well but it's what you would do in the future. It's not a for sure thing:
"They would bring it to the store tomorrow."
"I would speak to him if I could."

Why do I bring this up you ask? Well, I've simply got to wonder which version of the word is used with hopes and dreams?

Because let's think about it. Are you definitely going to become a musician when you grow up? How about how many children you're going to have? It's just a weird concept.

As for dreams and desires, I've been thinking about them a lot lately. Yeah, I need to live in the moment I know. However, with thinking about these dreams and goals, it's been making me think, "Why do we all wait and wait and wait to even think about going for our dreams?"
I use travel as my example. There are some days where I simply think, "I could just pack up some things and go on an impromptu road trip. Just me, the road, and the world." After that initial thought, reality sets in. "I have school, and a job, and how would my running schedule be affected?" We throw so many roadblocks in our way, don't we? It makes sense to think about one's responsibilities, but at the same time we don't want to be stuck, right?

All I know is that I don't want to be looking back on my life regretting how few adventures I had.

What are some goals you know you will achieve in your future? What are some goals you hope you achieve?

Summer Classes and Borders

One more day of Spanish 202! Yes! Three more weeks of Spanish, three more weeks...

Since we're talking about Spanish, I just have to say one thing: It's taking over. It always does the last week of class. (Then again, I'm not really sure I can say that because this is only the second part of a three part program. Still.)
Anywho, as I've said before when my life gets busy, my life gets messy. Random areas in the house are starting to have little piles build up. The bedroom just has things that need to be put away. The car? Terrible. And it's making me feel a little crazy. Still, I just need to concentrate on finishing up this "term", so as soon as I'm done tomorrow... it's time to get organized.

...After my run. And after work. Well, I'm guessing Friday is when organizing will occur.

I managed to stop by Borders today and take a look around. The depressing-ness of the liquidation finally hit home while I was finding a parking space. Giant yellow "Going out of business" banners everywhere...it's sad no matter what type of business it is. It's even more depressing when it's a store you used to spend hours reading and perusing the shelves.

Truth be told, even with sales the books were kind of pricey still. It was only stuff for about 10% off, but I did manage to snag a magazine for 40% off.

I wouldn't spend 5 bucks on a magazine normally, but getting that magazine for $3? Why not. Borders needs some love.
Although after I told my mom that, she replied, "Well what about when they were taking over all of the little businesses before?"
...I still like my Borders.

Have you visited Borders since the liquidation started? How do you feel about Borders?

Cancelled Class and Not So Healthy Eating

Ah, don't you love it when luck is on your side?

For me, that luck came in the form of class being cancelled. I don't know why it was cancelled, but it was good for me. I ended up working on Spanish homework all day though... So did it really matter?
(Yes. Yes it did. Because I needed time to work on the stuff.)

I'll be honest with y'all. Despite working on eating healthy most of the time, there are days where all I want to eat is junk food. Hey, sometimes I'll eat junk instead of real food. Not both, just instead. Sometimes I'll eat junk and good food. I think one of the benefits of still being fairly young is that I can eat pretty terribly some days and not completely destroy myself. Or maybe it's the running. Then again, sometimes it's the crappy food that messes with my running. Ah, I dunno.

So I don't eat the greatest sometimes. Which is a big reason I'm not doing a health blog. That, and I don't know how to cook healthy food (let alone any type of food, really).

Yeah, I'll admit I could eat cookies instead of a real meal. Which I have done before. Recently.

What not so healthy activities do you partake in?

Looming Homework

So I've got a couple of big Spanish assignments with approaching due dates, and I've been trying to work on them all weekend. How has that been working out?
...Eh.

You know when you have a lot on your plate, and then you just don't want to do anything? I mean, not just not your work, just nothing? Maybe that's just me.

Still, I think it's kind of the idea behind going cold turkey on something. For instance, when you decide that you're not going to eat chocolate anymore that's all that you want to eat. When you plan on starting an intense workout, you instead lounge on the couch for longer than usual.

Avoidance? Perhaps. I just... I just don't want to do my homework. Blargh.

How do you deal with a bunch of work that you're not in the mood to work on?

The Age Old Question Regarding Food

I'm done with Spanish 201! ...Now onto Spanish 202, starting on Monday. Huzzah.

I may only have nineteen years under my belt, but I know that there is one question out there that should be fairly simple that instead is one of the most frustrating questions to answer.

Where should we go out to eat?

I'm not the only one out there who finds this question so baffling, I know it.

Why is it that question is so difficult to answer? I don't know. It's especially bothersome in a place you know well, because you think, "We went there a few days ago, I don't want that."

90% of the time, everyone knows what they're in the mood for food wise. It's simply trying to analyze what the rest of your group would approve of.

Which usually means someone is disappointed. Maybe not always, but it's certainly not uncommon.

I'm tired. How will my long run fare being tomorrow? Ack.

How do you decide on where to eat when with a group?

Spanish Compositions and Dried Fruit

Blah, I dislike Spanish compositions, and I don't think anyone else does either. So we're not going to talk about that. We're going to talk about dried fruit.

Oh yes. We're living on the edge over here.

From the very first time I tried an oatmeal raisin cookie, I knew that baked goods and dried fruit do not mix. Sure, there are many people out there who would disagree with my stance, like my own father. Favorite cookie is oatmeal raisin? What's wrong with him?

Strangely enough, despite my hatred of baked goods with dehydrated fruits I love dried fruit by itself. During the school year when I ate breakfast in Valsets, I would always take a scoop of raisins meant for waffle toppings just to munch on. Not as a garnish, just alone.
My favorite dried fruits are craisins and raisins, just because they're so good to chomp on. However, if I don't measure it out... I could probably take down a whole bag. And dried fruit can be pretty calorie-packed if you eat a lot of it.

...not to mention what cranberries are good for. Ack.

Then why is it when I see a raisin in my cinnamon roll, I'm grossed out? Maybe the softness of baked dough clashes with the... really, what consistency would you call dried fruit? I'm at a loss.

I'm off to the cousins' house, so ta ta!

What is your stance on dried fruit?

Right Idea, Wrong Time and 10,000 Hours

My talent for having the right idea at the wrong time is at full power apparently.

Confused? Let me explain.

As you know, on Friday I went up to go get a textbook for my summer class. One of the two things I needed to get done while up there was that, and they just happened to be taking inventory.
"Well, you don't really need it yet. I mean, what are you going to do with it beforehand, look at it?" my sister told me.
"I guess you're right," I replied.

Hmm. Actually, I do need it. Looking over the syllabus, I noticed that we have homework due the first day of class. Hoo boy. That just means I have to get up there as soon as the bookstore opens, then finish the homework in the hour and a half before class. That's all I can do.

The second instance of the right idea at the wrong time happened today, when I went into town to go get books from my mom's business. I had the key... To her part of the building. Did I have a key to the entire building? No. Pish.

In other thought processes, I've been thinking about the 10,000 hours concept. The idea is that you need to spend at least 10,000 hours working on a skill to become an expert in it. Being very type A personality, I want to get a start on that as soon as possible. The only problem with that is I don't know what skill I'd like to develop.

Oh geez. It sounds like I'm talking about majors. Similar though, isn't it?

What's your 10,000 hour skill?

The Wedding, Tests, Easter Candy and Movies

Did everyone have a splendid day? Because I most certainly did!

First of all, let's start with the Royal Wedding. Weirdly enough, I woke up to go to the bathroom five minutes before my alarm was supposed to go off. My bladder has good timing I guess.
My gang and I ended up only watching about the first half hour before shuffling back to bed. Yeah, I guess we're not as hard core as some people, but honestly? I just wanted to see the dress. Personally, I would not go for the lace sleeves, but she looked lovely. And there were some crazy hats.

Getting a test back can either make your day terribly dismal or extremely cheerful. When you get two tests back in one day, those emotions can be doubled either way, or canceled out depending on opposing scores. One of the tests that was returned to me today was my Spanish test. When I originally took it, I felt pretty good about it. That confident attitude was riding with me until Profesora wrote the class scores on the board. Only one A, two Bs, three Cs, 5 Ds and 4 Fs. Those were  not good odds. However, if you looked at what I wrote at the beginning of this post, you would have already realized by now that yes, I did do quite smashingly. In fact, I was the only A. Aw yeah.
My other test that I got back? History of Fashion. I was terrified, even though I thought I did alright. All the professor told us was that the scores were to the extremes on both ends. I just wanted a B. Instead... I got an A! Woohoo!

Goodness, I shouldn't be bragging about my grades but it just feels so good!

As for other things in my life, all I can say is take a look at this:

This is my last piece of Easter candy, and now it is gone. It's bittersweet really. I need to get my rear back into full gear, and having no more Easter candy helps. Still, I will miss its deliciousness.

As a last note from me, I now have a new distraction. I just found out that my dad got Netflicks, and I happened to learn his password. Instant movies and television shows? Oh dear. I just watched The Graduate, which it has been years since I've seen it. I don't understand why people love that movie so much because story wise? It's a little bit... odd. I don't know if I want to root for the main character, because his motives are a bit off-kilter.

Do you still have Easter candy?

Car Troubles, Contradictions and Summer Classes

Well, today certainly had an interesting start to it!

I woke up at 7:25 AM, went to the bathroom, and when I returned to my room I saw that I had missed a call on my phone from my mother. Before I could even look at the text message that was also sent, the phone rang again. It turns out that my mom's car broke down in C-town and she needed me to drive down to pick her up so she could use the van. I was able to get it to her, but what a crazy way to start out the morning.

It stinks because she just got the car checked up, and the van was just fixed. "I guess we'll have to get a car sooner than later... even thought we don't have the money," she muttered. See? It's phrases like this that make me freak out about money. She'll try to comfort me in other situations when I start saying I should be concerned about money, and she tells me not to worry. Then she goes and says something like this. My mother is the queen of contradictions.

As for the rest of the day, I signed up for Financial Aid for summer classes. Yes, I'm taking Spanish to get it over with. This will clear up a huge chunk of time needed for the rest of my school years, because I'll need all of the room I can get the next few years.

15 hours of Spanish every week? Oh joy. The biggest downside to this is that it'll be hard figuring out a work situation, but I'm lucky enough to be able to work for my mom if needed. Which seems to be the case.

Welp, time for me to head off to bed. Night!

Have you ever taken summer classes? What were the classes?

The Reactions to Exercise, Emotional Shopping and Feeling Good

Ah, what a day! Went by pretty fast, didn't it?

Today was my extremely relaxed day of the week for me, and it certainly seemed to stay that way. I suppose I wasn't too productive today, but I felt pretty productive when I got an early morning run in. Even if the rest of the day doesn't include much, you feel like you've accomplished so much when you squeeze in a workout earlier in the day.

It's funny how drastically different reactions can be from people when you are exercising.
For instance, I was on a run a few days ago when a little boy asked his mom, "Why is she running?" The mom cheerfully replied, "It's for exercise!" It was a cute little reaction that I had never gotten before, but on that same run I received some not so nice comments as well. On the way back home from my run, a car crammed full of meat heads drove by. I should have realized there would be trouble as soon as I saw them, but didn't think about until I heard, "Show me your titties!" ...Yeah. And I was starting to thing there weren't the prick stereotypes that every other college has, but these guys proved me wrong.
The reactions you get from people when you exercise are so varied, you can never be sure just what to expect. I've received kind smiles and evil glares. I've gotten the "Good Mornings!" and the grumbles. It's just one of those weird things about the world, isn't it?

I have a confession: Recently, while I was feeling a little down I did a bit of emotional shopping. This is a crazy concept for me, because I hardly like to spend money in general. However, emotion got the better of me, and today I was greeted with this little package:

I've always liked puzzle pieces, and I like thinking about where they fit. It might sound kind of goofy, but it makes me think about just where do I fit in this big ol' world. I know that I'm needed for something, I just don't know what that is yet.

Today was just a happy day. There's one big reason why, but that's information for a later post.
Now I'm a little worried about a Spanish exam tomorrow, and also the fact that I can't find my Spanish workbook. I can study from the textbook, but I'm going to need that workbook later... Wish me luck in finding it!

Have you ever been an emotional shopper? What did you buy because of it?

(Oh, also random last bit of info: A himation is from the Greeks and has less fabric, the toga is from the Romans and has a ton of fabric. Now you know!)

Infectious Professors and The Case for the Out of Place Raisins

I'm now starting to believe that it is perfectly acceptable to lip sync to your itunes.

Anywho. Hello everyone! Can you believe that it's already Wednesday evening? Seriously, I'm not sure I can.

On Monday at ten o'clock, my Spanish professor walked into the classroom with a cold. Sitting in the front row as she hacked her head off in my direction, I should have know what was imminent.

For you see, I was greeted at 7:00 AM on Tuesday with a sore throat. Today, it's added the sniffles and drained my energy. It's sufficient to say that I've stocked up on the OJ

And some spray butter that I don't have much use for.
The peculiar thing about this whole situation came when I entered the classroom for the exam today. When I said that I had gotten sick on Tuesday, the profesora accused me of getting her sick.
...Who was the one coughing on me? Yeah.

They say that students that sit towards the front of classrooms are more likely to get the higher grades. Higher grades or a healthy immune system? What's more important?

Speaking of said exam, I have a question for all y'all out there.

Say you have the option of putting raisins in either fruit salad or rice pudding. Where do you put them? I honestly have no idea, especially since I do not partake in the gag-worthy dessert known as rice pudding. Also, who puts raisins in a fruit salad? Honestly.
If you're completely confused, I had to use the Spanish vocabulary in my exam to put the ingredients with the food. A language test is worrisome enough, now I have to actually analyze the questions?

All this fuss over raisins. My goodness.

The rest of the evening for me includes eating a late dinner with a breakfast theme/pirate theme. And a band. You read that right.

Have you ever gotten sick from a teacher? And where would you put raisins? (Bizarre questions, I know. That's all I've got.)

Disappearing Days and Odd Running Habits

It's another one of those days that seemed to simply dissipate into thin air.

Have you ever had those days where you felt like you were busy all day, yet still feel like you didn't get anything done? That's exactly how today felt.

I suppose I did study for my Spanish exam tomorrow... yet when you have no physical work to show for it, somehow it feels like less.

Today I went for a run, and I'd just like to state that Oregon is back to its rainy self. Seriously.
When I started running, there was no rain. Alas, as I ran back home it was pouring.

If you were to ever watch me running, it would be an extremely odd sight. The odd thing is not my form, because I run in a pretty standard form. It's what I do while I run that is just peculiar.
When I run on the treadmill, you can see me lip syncing to whatever song that is playing on the trusty ipod. I used to be self conscious of it, but now I really don't care.
As for outside, I tend to look like I'm delivering something. I've ran with DVDs in my hand, books, kettle corn... Today I think topped all of my past running looks. If you were to see me running today, you would have seen a girl soaked to the bone carrying a discount bag of dark chocolate kisses and talking on the phone. That's just how I roll.

Once again I ask, where has this day gone? That's life.

What odd things have you done while exercising?

The Feelings of Winning and Losing

There I sat, staring at my hands in front of me. Two of my fingertips throbbing, I couldn't concentrate because they reminded me of what had happened before. After what seemed to be a day of pure winning, I was overcome with the sense of failure.

Before I continue into what appears to be an odd attempt at writing with wit, let's observe why the day had started out with the extreme feeling of success.

I love it when teachers adore me. I believe it's because I have this slightly twisted idea that somehow, I've won. To explain it, it's almost as if it's a game to do well in a class. One of the objectives in achieving this goal includes having the teacher like you. If they like you, they're more likely to give you a good grade. Perhaps this isn't the best mindset to have, but I can't help it! The reason I mention all of this is because my History professor adores me. I'm pretty sure she wants me to go into history. I can't help but feel cocky!

The other shining light in my day came in my Spanish class next, when I got my Examen 8 back. There was a lovely little A at the top of the test. Basically, the day felt like an incredible win.

Why the feeling of failure then? It all started when I decided that I was going to donate blood. Of course, donating blood would make you feel pretty great, right? I would have too... If I was allowed to. You see, apparently my iron levels were too low.
I couldn't believe it. The last two times I've donated, they told me I had an excellent amount of iron. Alas, that was not the case today. They pricked two of my fingers, just to make sure. Yes, please repeat my least favorite part of the donating process twice, thank you. I like having bruises on my fingertips.

I staggered away from the donation site, overcome with a feeling of utter failure. What had I done wrong? I ate red meat. I ate a healthy diet. That brings us back to where we were at the beginning of this post. I was even provided with a note explaining why I still had the normal amount of blood in my veins. The letter was like a note from the principal explaining that I wasn't being a good student. It mocked me.

Now that I've had time to register my thoughts, I realize it's not so bad. We have our wins and our losses, and today was definitely a sign of that. Still, I have to wonder why my iron was low. I've lost some weight since I last donated, though it hasn't felt like it. I haven't taken multivitamins in awhile either. I just hate that feeling.

Life is life. I need to stop worrying about it and move on. I've got a lot of things to think about, but not being able to donate blood isn't one of them. (Although, I should probably watch out.)

Night to you all! Let's all have a wonderful tomorrow!

Do you usually have good days and bad days, or is everyday a mix of good and bad?

The Difficult Task of Actually Starting Something

Can I just say that homework is unpleasant? We can all agree on that correct?

I've been working on an essay that is due for Thursday, even though it's a rough draft due. Still, despite being a simple rough draft, it took the longest time to actually start writing. Even with having an idea of what I was going to write, I just couldn't start. I think this goes for a lot of things. Even if it's something that we like to do, sometimes starting anything just takes more work than really working on whatever it is you need to work on. Woo, that's a lot of rambling.

I didn't feel like I did a lot, but I didn't think I wasted that much time... I'm not sure really where I stand for the day. I did have a lot of Spanish homework... that took up a bit of time.

Other than that, I managed to run today! Yes, my first day that I ran since my race. I just ran three miles on the treadmill. And you know what? Surprisingly, I felt really good. I didn't even have my heel cup things in. That is weird, but I won't complain.

Can you see my mind seems to be a bit off? I suppose that's what starting school up again is like, plus having assignments biting at your ankles. ...I should stop while I'm behind.

Do you have difficulty starting projects, or is another part of projects that give you the most trouble?

New Teachers, Considering Majors and a Lot of Work

Spanish has started to show me that this is going to be a busy term. Woowee.

Despite being a busy term due to Spanish homework every night, I think I'm gonna have some pretty cool classes this term. One of the ones was the costume class I mentioned yesterday, but my two new classes today seem quite interesting. I'm actually pretty excited for writing. It may be kind of hard, but the teacher seems pretty cool. One random thing I noticed is that his hair is screwed up big time. He did mention his barber didn't really understand the meaning of "take a little off the sides", but he needs to trim the baby mullet. Just sayin'.

Ouch. My bank account is crying right now, because there's not much left in there. I had to buy two more books today that weren't as much as my Spanish texts, but still managed to do some damage. I know that I earned money this summer for school but... geez, it hurts to see it disappear like that. Next year, I am seriously going to take advantage of the Internet for books.

Damn you Dos Mundos and your expensiveness!
Because it's winter term, I've once again started seriously thinking about majors again. Right now, I'm not sure if I even want to stay here. There are so many pros and cons to this school, and both the pros and cons are big. And if I transfer, how will that affect my credits? My ability to travel abroad? That's why I'm starting to think about this again now. Now, I have a notebook (that I got for Christmas) dedicated to figuring out what I want to do and traveling abroad.

That's a pros and cons list of some majors. Yep.
Yeah, I'm that intense. I thought that perhaps if I jot my ideas down, they may come clearer. I think next term I'm going to take simply classes that sound interesting to me. Yep. If they are required, that's cool but I just want to know what things I'll really like.

Other than homework, went on my first run back at campus again! I think it's official that treadmills are my enemy. I don't care how cold it is, running outside is the way to go.
Funny that even when I'm a bit messy in the room, my room mate still seems to top me in the messiness department. Makes me feel clean.

How do you organize your thoughts?

Back to Class and Textbooks

Yup. The term has started once again... I've probably said that a hundred times by now.

I'm not sure yet if this term has started out rocky or alright, but I think it's been a little bit of both.

I'm back to my 8:00 am History class again and I was surprised to see that not a lot of people are continuing from my old class. It's also in a new building which is a bit discouraging because if it was in the same building, my next class would be there too and not across campus. Yes, the campus is small but who likes to walk in the cold at 8:00? Not me. I was extremely tired in class this morning... not the best of signs. Hopefully I'll get more sleep and not have that problem.

Spanish was kind of awkward. The teacher is a bit... odd. She'll tell a joke, but she'll say it like she's telling you your mother passed away. There's also going to be quite a bit of homework. Boo. Spanish homework is the most annoying homework to me simply because it's so tedious, ya know?

Tech. Theatre: Costume will be pretty interesting! I had no idea we were going to be sewing! I can sort of sew, but I'm amateur at best. It'll probably be really fun! The teacher tends to trail off though. She's a classic artsy person.

I was hoping to get more done today, but that did not happen. I bought my Spanish books today and died a little inside. My two Spanish books cost more than all of my books combined from last term. I'm running low on the debit account... No more spending for awhile it seems. I was able to finish my Spanish homework, but I dozed off a bit in the afternoon. Woops.

New classes tomorrow! Time to get ready for bed, since tomorrow's another early morning!

How was your first day back to the grind?

Busy days and First Impressions

Oof. What a day it's been. Busy busy busy! The start of a very busy week, that's for sure.

There was class like normal, then a quick lunch led by meeting with the Spanish teacher to get signed up for Spanish 102. She suggested I sit in her 2:00 201 class. That meant showering quickly, then running into her class. Honestly, I felt like I could understand for the most part. Although I wish there was a class in between 102 and 201 happening next term, because that would feel the best. For the rest of the day I've been studying for my Health test tomorrow and finishing up my English reading.

There was also a meeting for the One Act thrown in at 5:30. That was... awkward, simply because my fatigue from the day made me sound like an idiot. Ugh. First impressions with the other guy? Not the greatest. I pulled off a pretty legit dumb blond facade.

It's felt like I have not stopped going... but I'm ready to crash. I'm a little worried about the test, but I'm always worried. Getting a good night's sleep will help, and I can study a little extra in the morning.

...There is yelling and screaming happening outside. Damn you 1st Taylor, you guys are always super obnoxious.

Tomorrow is the Turkey Trot and a benefit concert in Corvallis that I promised to go to. Only a few more days!

What are your busy days like?
