Lack of Motivation and The World of Bloggers

I believe that the effect of studying for a good chunk of the day burnt me out, causing me to have a lack of motivation to complete anything today. That, and receiving a certain paper back.
Don't you hate it when you get great marks on the smaller assignments, making you think that you're writing everything right, then discovering that apparently you're not when it comes to the big essay? No? Just me? I know, I shouldn't be complaining about this, but I honestly thought that my writing had been good for the class. Well, I'll just be done with that for now, but I just wanted to get it out.

The blogging world is such a quirky, fun place. It's amazing how people can connect, tell incredible stories, and just create an environment where you can find at least one person if not many with the same interests. Before I started blogging, I occasionally looked at some blogs. I never really read any of the blogs on a regular basis though. As I started blogging, I started exploring blogs more often. Soon I had my regular blogs. I continued getting more regular blogs on my reading list, and I still am finding more blogs I like. (There's too many, it's ridiculous!)
Now it's funny because sometimes I end up thinking about some of my favorite bloggers like someone I know in real life. On a run recently, this is seriously how I was thinking:

I wonder if Annie's finals went well. They should be done by now.
Speaking of finals, how exciting that Lexie graduated from college! I wonder how she feels now that it's over.
I wish I had the confidence of taking pictures like Caitlin.
Gosh, all of the 50's inspired dresses that Jessica wears are so adorable. I seriously want to steal her clothes.
Speaking of things that are adorable, all of the treats that Erica makes look so fun and tasty. I wonder how her move has been going.
Rachel has been doing lots of home decorating hasn't she? And she just went on vacation, it looked really pretty.
Oh, that reminds me, how much longer is Mimi staying in the UK? She goes to the coolest places over there.
I can't believe Ashley went and ran a half marathon with her fiance who only had run a four mile run before. Crazy. She is a beast, and it's meant in the best way possible.
And Kat? Getting ready for her wedding, training for a marathon, and having two loved ones graduate right after another? Girl has a lot on her plate!

If you didn't already guess by now, those are a few of the blogs I read the most. Sometimes I'm forgetful in commenting, and some I miss a post or two. There are even more blogs than that that I like to look at. Geez, they're all women aren't they? Maybe it's just me, but I feel like a lot of bloggers are women.

To these bloggers, I'd like to say thanks. Not just to the ones who've peeked at my own blog (but you guys are AMAZING), but to all of you who have let the rest of us into your awesome lives. For being real, even if we can't prove it. For inspiring us unintentionally or on purpose. I'm pretty sure a huge part of the reason I thought it would be cool to do a half marathon is because I saw so many bloggers who had run them, or even farther. Bloggers who had only run 5ks, and had wrote about how scary that was. So anywho... yeah. Bloggers are cool.

Another thing I've noticed? All of the bloggers I read are older than I am by a couple of years. Many of them are about my sister's age (I think). Once again, I am drawn towards older people. Odd.

The main reason I started thinking about this was because Lexie messaged me asking about adding a Name and URL thing to the comments like so many other bloggers I know do. Currently, I am not sure how to do that. My skills in the language of HTML have disappeared, so I'm not sure what to do to fix that. It's like any language, you've got to continuously use it or you lose it. It could be because of Blogger, but I'm not really sure. So, if anyone has any knowledge on that... let me know! That would be great. (Geez, how far I've fallen in my tech skills.)

Right now I am lacking any good food for snacking. At first, I thought this would be a good thing so unnecessary snacking would not occur, but this is not the case. I've realized when I'm hungry, but not hungry for a full meal, I need snacks. Peanut butter, Top Ramen, and Bagel Thins are not good munchy foods. I shall jack some snacks from home when I pass by on Thursday.

My feet are horrendously disgusting. Good lord. Now that you know the status of my feet, you can sleep soundly. Or have nightmares, your choice.

How have blogs affected you? What are some of your favorite blogs?

Random Necessities, Crazy Hair, Hall Playfulness, Candy and Easter

I have lots of random things to blather about today, so let's get to it!

It's funny how necessary little things are in everyday life. My currently missing little necessary thing is tweezers. Before, I didn't think about how beastly the eyebrows could become. And believe me, they can be beastly. Visiting home this weekend means taking advantage of the tweezers. Okay, enough talk about hair. Goodness.

Since I've been in college, it feels like my maturity level has gone down in certain areas. Sure, I've learned how to be more responsible for certain situations, but in other cases my maturity has been very low. Case in point? Earlier this evening my RA created a hall Easter egg decorating event which turned into an Easter egg hunt. If you happened to pass by this dorm earlier, you would have seen a bunch of college students dashing through the halls frantically searching couch cushions for plastic eggs. After said event, I stuffed myself silly with Easter candy to the point of feeling a little nauseous. Eh, no regrets!

When it comes to Easter candy, I enjoy having some jelly beans. The rest of the year they don't really work, but they seem to fit the light, playful feel of the holiday.

However, jelly beans are the equivalent of Lima beans when it comes to my favorite candy of all time. Four words: Reese's peanut butter eggs. Really anything that combines the deliciousness of chocolate and peanut butter is an A+ in my book.

I know that not everyone celebrates Easter. Also, I know that the main idea around Easter is supposed to be for religious purposes. But c'mon! The most fun part of the holiday is finding pastel-colored treats all around whether it be decorations or eggs.

Hmm. Suppose that wasn't a lot of random stuff, but it felt like it when I first started writing it. Time to get myself to bed!

What's your favorite candy of all time?

Homework, Waiting for Superman and Market of Choice

No matter what, all through middle school and high school I spent Sundays as days to work on homework. Recently in college however, Sundays have involved... doing absolutely nothing. Today was a bit of a revert back to high school life. I was back at home, doing homework. ...Now I'm not in the mood to go back to school. It must be done.

My mom who was doing work as well decided that it was time for a break. She wanted to go to the movie Waiting for Superman so off we went.

Oh man, it was a great movie. I suggest seeing it. There hasn't been hype for it for nothing. It's also a very informative movie. There were so many things that I did not know about the education system.

After the movie we thought we should eat somewhere. I said it was a bit early for dinner, so I suggested doing something beforehand. This is when we ventured to somewhere I was extremely excited to go: Market of Choice.
The Market of Choice was recently built in town and I've heard a lot of stuff about it. Call me crazy to be pumped to go to a uppity grocery store, but I've heard of stranger. The verdict? What a cool place! I wouldn't buy my regular groceries there, but you could buy freshly ground almond butter, fancy cheeses, local chocolates, so much stuff! During winter break there will be much shopping there. My mom even got me some fresh ground pb and Almond b. Can't wait to try it!

Now, best I start getting a move on... School returns tomorrow! ...Meh.

What are your views on Market of Choice and Waiting for Superman?

Peanut Butter and Potter

When I was a youngin' I used to dislike peanut butter a lot. Now, I adored peanut butter in certain things, but in its natural form? It was not happening. I liked that fake peanut butter in Reeses and Peanut Butter Crunch. However, why on earth would anyone have sandwiches consisting of only peanut butter and jelly? Why did people think it was good on pancakes, fruit, or anything? The main reason was probably due to the fact that I've never been a fan of nuts. One day, something changed though.
It was last year when I tried it with apples. Everyone talks about how it's so good, so why not try it? This is what had me eating apples and peanut butter almost every day. Then I tried it on a waffle with slices of strawberries. Delicious! Why had I never had this?
Why do I mention this now? This morning, I had my favorite breakfast of a bagel thin with peanut butter except there was one slight difference. Today I started using All Natural Peanut Butter. It's just wild how someone who for most of their life never liked peanut butter now uses the most basic form for their breakfast. Just a random thought.

Had the Adam's Peanut Butter... I think I'll have Chunky Kind next time
Perhaps I should try Almound Butter... I see it all over the blog world, is it as delicious as everyone says?

Before I start up on my next topic of discussion, I should mention a little fact about me. I am a gigantic Harry Potter nerd. I'm one of those kids who can make a reference to HP almost anywhere, read the books, watched the movies, all of that jazz. An example? When visiting my cousin at her school, I saw a upright circular plaque thing and said, "Look, it's a pensieve!" Yeah, a bit ridiculous.

I'm talking about HP now because I think this month should definately be considered Harry Potter month. There's two reasons for this, which are:
  • The obvious reason that HP 6 part 1 is coming out on November 19th. Have I known this date for months? Yes. Do I have my midnight showing ticket? Do you even need to ask?
  • Tomorrow on Glee there is a very special guest showing up who I am absolutely giddy about. No, it's not Daniel Radcliff. It's Darren Criss. This is the point where you go, who? Well, he plays Harry in A Very Potter Musical. Now you're thinking, "What?"
A Very Potter Musical is a parody play that these students from Michigan created and posted it all online. If you're a HP nerd and a bit of a theatre nerd, you will find it HILARIOUS. If you're not, well... I can't help you. It is so ridiculous. And yeah, the guy from that show is going to be in the next episode of Glee. I am freakin' excited.

There's probably some other HP thing that makes this month feel very HP-ish, but I can't think of any more.

You ever have those days when you don't really want to move around? That is what today has been. I have gotten work done, but my habits in the social department have been lacking today.

I might call it a early night tonight... Not going to bed right now, but just sayin'. Tomorrow I donate blood!

What are your opinions on Peanut Butter? Harry Potter?
