Welp, I'm back home working on homework that is due tomorrow. And, no, you don't have to ask me why I wasn't working on it in the car today. The reason for that is because I didn't have Internet, and that's all that I needed for the assignment. Yes, not a smart move on my part, but I wasn't expecting to get home on Sunday evening. What can you do?
As for my cousin, she's doing good. She had a slight concussion, and just needs to take the week off. She's going to have killer bruises on her face from getting smacked in the nose though. Ouch. Last night happened to be pretty stressful because it took so long to find out anything. We were in there for two hours before they finally scanned her head. What was going on for those two hours?
My original thought process was that this would be a relaxing weekend. Just a weekend to chill, not worry, all of that. The thing is, I didn't think about who I'd be riding with. My company were three... older ladies? I don't really like putting my mom in that category. Still that's what we've got.
Normally, a group like this is fine, if they're mixed with other groups. But when it's just an older squad and your 20 year old self?... Be prepared for two days of being told you're constantly wrong, and feeling like you're being treated like a child. At least that's how it felt for me. Almost every comment was, "No, that's not right" towards me. Or "No, you didn't." Or maybe some variation of Hannah doing something wrong. The other half of the time, it seemed to be that whatever I said wasn't heard, or was just ignored. Basically, I just felt like I was being treated like a little kid. I bet that's how I'm viewed, just because that's how we tend to view some people we know. There are cousins that I have that I have a hard time imagining them as anything older than 5. It's just not a fun seat to be thrown in.
This might make me sound like even more of a kid, I know. Still, I just want to feel like I'm actually... respected? I'm not sure what I'm trying to say, but I think respected is the closest word to what I want to say. And I'll admit, I didn't handle it the best way I could have but when it comes to a boiling point, you tend to snap.
On the other hand, it was good I went up I suppose. I was extra support when she needed it, even if she probably didn't. Plus, I got to see a real life Oscar. That was cool.
It was at Gonzaga, because Bing Crosby has a big memorial thing there. Including his Oscar. Yeah.
Well, I've got to get back to this assignment. It might be a late night, just due to the fact that I have no idea where to find information on the female menstrual system. Yeah, that's my homework. Not a fan of Human Physiology.
Does feeling like you're the little kid in a group ever go away? I hope so.

What's My Age Again?
All of my life, I've been looking to the future. What's next after this step? What should I do now to make sure my future works out all right? I constantly try to live in the moment, but the rest of my mind gets caught up in what could be next. With the constant worrying about the future, I think about things like career and how I'm going to take care of myself one day.
My futuristic look isn't only through my life, I tend to connect with those "living in the future" for a lack of a better way to say it. It feels like I've always been drawn to groups older than me. The people I hung out with during this year at school were mostly juniors. I've found more similarities with my sister's friends than people from my grade. That tends to be kind of the case online as well.
It seems that much of the blogging world consists of females who are in the last years of college or older. In many of the blogs that I read, people are getting married, buying their first homes, getting real jobs, all that jazz. When reading about that type of stuff, I start to think about how far behind I must be. Then I realize: Hell, I'm only 19! I've got a lot of time to do stuff like that. It just feels like I should be getting it done now, you know?
That's just the thing. I'm still a kid. I still refer to my parent's house as my house. I still have a messy room. I'm still fairly young despite how crotchety I may act sometimes.
And sure, it's great to think about the future, but I know I gotta loosen up a little! Take the plunge on random experiences. It's all about once again living a happy medium.
Well that's my recent epiphany. Just had to get that out of my head. Other than that, I'm going hiking tomorrow morning. I don't really hike. We'll see how that turns out!
Do you ever had trouble acting your age?

The People Behind the Smile
Despite the lack of taking care of other physical features (the hair), I managed to get one part of my body into tip top shape. I had a dentist appointment.
I always find it weird that you have to make dentist appointments so far in advance. Yes, I realize that the dentist has to schedule in a lot, but by the time you have your appointment you might end up having something else you need to do for that day. Anywho.
I've always had a weird relationship with the people who work on my teeth. When I was younger, I hated the dentist. I liked the clean feeling my teeth had after my appointment, but that was it. The gums being stabbed repeatedly was something that I didn't enjoy. Oh, and my teeth were usually fine. Just whenever they used the scraper, I felt like they kept poking my gums with it. Plus, there was that time with the cavity.
While using the scraper, a slight tap hit my tooth. I cringed. The dental assistant then decided to STAB that area again and ask nonchalantly, "Oh, does that hurt?"
YES. Yes that does hurt. Stabbing something that hurts usually isn't the best way to go about making it not hurt.
So, I've always had a bit of disliking for the dentist. However, this is where it gets a little weird.
I think orthodontists are awesome. For the longest time, I wanted to be an orthodontist.Heck, I still think it would be a cool job, and not just because of the bucks. For a girl who hates the dentist, why the orthodontist love? Because they make teeth straight and beautiful! Okay, dentist do a lot of things to make your teeth great too, but... I just can't show them the same love.
To me, it's like orthodontists help you through a transformation.Slowly but surely, the Caterpillar of crooked teeth will become a butterfly. Or straight teeth, whatever.
I even remember the names of two different types of retainers. Spring clip and hawley. Yuppers.
Now the dentist and I are on alright terms. I don't really like to go, but I'm fine with it now. Besides, my teeth apparently are still looking good.
Before we go, fun fact about my teeth: I still have two of my baby teeth in my mouth. My adult teeth just never came in. They've told me that I'm going to need implants in the future but for now I'm happy to have what appears to be a normal smile. The only thing that really seems terrifying is that one day when I don't expect it, a tooth might fall out. Classy.
Do you like the dentist or orthodontist? What's a weird thing about your teeth?

The End of Harry Potter
I'm not gonna lie. I've been wandering aimlessly around my house for awhile in a strange state of sadness and confusion brought on by the mix of a lack of sleep plus hormones effing with me.
I know, I know. I've talked about Harry Potter for the last few days, but this is probably going to be the last of it. Forever.
... I think I might cry.
So last night, my friends and I drove to the theater at about 7:30 to wait until the midnight showing of HP and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. As the time crept closer and closer to midnight, I realized I wasn't ready for it to all end. There were no more books. There were no more movies. This was the last of it all.
But there's nothing we can do about it, except reminisce about all of the incredible moments it brought us, eh?
I remember listening to the second book on a road trip to California.
I remember locking myself in the bathroom at three in the morning, finishing up the Half Blood Prince, reading the part where Dumbledore dies.
I remember thinking "What are the Hoacruxes?"
I remember my first Harry Potter midnight movie showing.
I remember laughing and crying while reading the final book on a road trip with my cousins, all of them staring at me like I was mad.
There are so many memories that I've associated with HP, and all of those memories came flooding back at I watched the final movie play on the screen.
Oh, and there was crying involved. Not just by me, but by the whole theater. Some of the events that didn't make me cry in the book devastated me in the movie.
One of the funniest things about the whole series is how my favorite character turned out. Ever since I heard his silly name and goofy charm, Neville Longbottom has been my favorite character.
Later, it turns out that he's super tough, and could have been the chosen one.
I recall watching the fourth movie, exclaiming my admiration for Neville, and my sister saying, "Eh, he's weird looking though."
This is Neville from the fourth movie...
And this is what the actor looks like now.
Who was on the right track? This girl.
Harry Potter has been involved in my life for about half the time I've been alive. So yeah, it's been a big deal. And now it's done?
I'm still not handling it well. I suppose all that I can do it wonder where my Hogwarts acceptance letter got lost in the mail.
What series has been a special part of your life?

The End of an Era
Y'know, I've been surprisingly quiet about a certain subject. I suppose I didn't want to bore everyone out there who isn't a fan. Yet, if you're not a fan, I simply feel sad for you.
Tomorrow, at midnight, a phenomenon ends.
A fan base joins together to experience the final part of an incredible series.
Yes, Harry Potter 7 Part 2. The midnight showing is happening tomorrow.
Really, what else can I say about HP that hasn't already been said? All I know is that I've been prepping for tomorrow, but I don't think there's anything I can say other than I can't wait.
I'm going to wake up at seven tomorrow, and probably go to sleep at three the next morning. I'm going to be sitting outside of a theater for about four and a half hours. And I can't wait.
So Harry, let's experience the end of something great. Together! (God I've seen that commercial way too many times.)
By the way, that's the picture that my sister framed. I believe it needs to come with me to the premiere.

The Thing About Monte Carlo
Well I had my first class of the summer today. So it begins.
There's been something that has been bothering me for quite some time now. This little thing that's been bothering me started as soon as I saw this preview:
"But Hannah," you ask, "Why on earth would this bother you so much? It's just a preview for a cheesy movie."
True, it does look like a cheesy movie. THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN MADE.
Did anyone else out there ever watch The Lizzie McGuire Movie? If so, you were one of the people who got deja vu when watching this preview.
Of course they re-create movies all of the time. It's just... that's part of my childhood. I have a distinct memory of watching that movie in the basement of my cousins' Ohio house over and over again. Actually, just this part:
And that really is the biggest reason that this new movie cannot top it.
Plus, I've never been the biggest fan of Selena Gomez. She seems... uppity.
That's seriously all I've got for this evening. Hope everyone has a lovely day!
Did you watch The Lizzie McGuire Movie? What are your thoughts on this new movie?
